State business panel offers savings in costs of Florida (Yahoo!)

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (AP) - a panel that includes the Florida business leaders and representatives of the State has found 125 ideas that he said could save 4 billion in government spending.

Wednesday, developed by Florida (TaxWatch) working group budget, privacy watchdog group published its recommendations.

The plan includes a series of proposals to reduce costs of prison, including older releases prisoners and reduced penalties for possession of marijuana and cocaine.

Many recommendations concentrate on State pensions. They include raising the starting retirement, increases life and requiring employees to contribute to pension plan cost recovery.

Another proposal would be to move from a defined contribution plan that shifts the responsibility for the investment of each employee.
